Clinton took credit for the boom of the '90's and blamed Bush for the smaller growth of the 00's.
Never mind that the causes for the boom are the technology boom and the economic policies that he was finally forced to accept.
Never mind that the boom ended in January of 2000 when Clinton was still in power.
Never mind that the problems with jobs that he and the other dems always blame Bush for are caused by unwise and unsustaniable hiring that occurred when everybody with a computer and an idea was creating a dot-com companies and needed to show a payroll full of techno-people to get venture capital.
So what did Bush do that caused the great deficits? He engaged in the war on extremists Jihadist (He didn't start it. He just decided it was time to fight it). He created the medicare prescription plan (oh, wait, that is a liberal idea). And he cut taxes which strategy allowed us to recover and have many quarters of SUSTAINABLE growth. Clinton did say Bush had growth, but not as large as the growth during his term. Frankly, whereas Gore may have inadvertently said he created the internet, Clinton must really believe he did invent the internet. How else can one explain him taking credit for the techno boom of the '90's
